The Esposito family welcomes you!

The story of Villa Amalfi is the story of the Esposito family, who emigrated to the United States from the town of Amalfi in the early 1970s. Amalfi, located along the beautiful "Amalfi Drive", and near another well-known town, Positano, is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy.

Success came quickly to the talented and hardworking family, as they became known for their popular pizzeria in Leonia, NJ. This pizzeria soon led to the establishment of the first Villa Amalfi, located on Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park.

By the early 1980s, the original location could no longer accommodate the demands for ala carte dining and catering from an ever-increasing customer base, and the Esposito's purchased the restaurant once known as "Joe's Elbow Room", a popular eatery for many years, located across the street from Winston Towers Condominium.

The Esposito's almost completely demolished the original building, and built on the site the Villa Amalfi that exists today. The original Villa Amalfi was not forgotten, however, and today exists as another Esposito restaurant, the popular Park Cafe on Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park.

The Esposito Brothers

Nick, John, and Angelo Esposito
Villa Amalfi has always been a family-run business, dedicated to fine cuisine and personal service. Nick Esposito is responsible for the "front of the house", and cares for all matters of banqueting and ala carte dining. In the kitchens reside his two brothers, Angelo and Executive Chef John Esposito. Both are formally trained chefs, with experience both in the United States and Europe. Their fourth brother, Bruno, is nearby at "Mangia" in Edgewater.

Sammy, our Maitre d'
Captains, Esper & Benny

No facility of Villa Amalfi's size can be run by just three brothers, of course, and it should come as no surprise that this dedicated family also works with a dedicated and talented staff, many of whom have been with Villa Amalfi for over a decade. From Sammy, the ever-cordial and accommodating Maitre d', to restaurant Captains Benny, Esper, Ovidio, and Vinnie, to Andy and Serrafino at the bar, to waiters, commis waiters, and kitchen staff, the quality of Villa Amalfi's staff is only equaled by the cuisine served at your table.
